"Ballet is like dreaming on your feet." -unknown
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" I feel dreamy just talking about it. I can still see them so clearly in my mind's eye. Graceful dancing. Like swines they glided across the shiny wooden floor. Twirling and swaying to the rhythm of the soft music. I was instantly entranced. As I gleefully watched the Ballerinas in their sparkly attire leaping on their tiptoes, I thought I heard a faint sound beside me. It was a familiar ruffling. Like my dad snoring.
I thought to myself, surely I'm hearing things, how could my dad be sleeping while in the audience of such a splendid performance. I refocused my attention towards the show. The music had escalated during a scene that involved a sword fight! When suddenly there it was again, that ruffled sound of someone breathing while sleeping upright. I thought to myself that undoubtedly I know that sound. Finally daring to look away from the show if only for one moment, turning my head to the right of me I saw my dad and I had to chuckle. As my suspicions were confirmed.
There he was sleeping upright in the plush suede seat and snoring (lol). I found that so amusing. Only moments before he dozed off I had whispered to him, ''This is better than a movie." He gave me somewhat of a smile and said,"yeah" in his nonchalant voice that really meant, if you think so Nicole. When the performance was over I had enjoyed myself so much that I desired to give a standing ovation, but no one else did so neither did I. I know lame of me right...ugh Oh well, there will be the next time by God's grace and blessings and I'll be sure to stand up and applause.
After leaving the theater we went out for dinner. When asked, where to by my dad I decided to go easy on his wallet and chose Chili's. while waiting for our table in the restaurant; we met a little boy around five years old or so who insisted on telling us his mother's business lol. When dinner was over we were both ready to get home. As we left Chili's parking lot my dad mentioned to me that he had had a fun night and I agreed with him. I was happy, peaceful and full when we arrived home. The next morning as I got ready for Sunday school I couldn't stop thinking about my wonderful night! I felt as though my night had been a dream because ever since I was a child I loved ballet and had always dreamed of seeing one though it was unspoken. In that little thought, I knew that I loved theater.

p.S. I'm truly a classic at heart, things like c.s. lewis plays, ballet, museums and Mozart gets me excited!
