The Magic Skirt

Once upon a time, there lived a girl who went off to the mall just for a little casual shopping and while she was there she discovered a magical skirt!

sheer tulle perfection!
She took one look at the skirt, it was a peculiar color to her. Purple but not quite. It was almost like a purple wine in her opinion lined with pleats in circumference, and tulle lots and lots of tulle! A squeal of delight was released from her mouth almost without her notice. As her lips parted to give way to a smile that could only be had when standing in a crowded store filled with other women in search of what she had just found!
In the girl's excitement she quickly yet ever so gently reached for the prize. It flowed so softly when removed from the rack as she realized how delicate and fluffy it felt to her hand. Like a purple cloud, only this cloud was filled with pleats and elegant tulle. Like magic! She knew that it was meant to be when she looked at the price tag that read $10.00 clearance! Things were looking good for her. There was only one problem. She had nothing to wear it with!! (gasp)

Well, what can I say... it's been a few full moons and an Eclipse since the last time I've written a fashion post. But no worries because I've got two super cute looks that will make up for it! Now back to this fab skirt, I found it at Charlotte's Russe for a great price $10.00.  And for a couple of weeks I didn't dare to wear it( even though I desperately wanted to) I was in search of the Perf top.  However, I realized that with such a statement skirt keeping it simple was my best bet. And decided to pair it with a soft white crop top sweater that my sister got from Cato.  My shoes are from a local clothing store in my city called "its fashion."
Okay. Can I take a second to admire outfit numero dos? My cousin's outfit is way over the top cuteness and perfectly matches her personality. She wore a simple dress with BELL SLEEVE (enough said) the dress is so cute by itself but Ally loves accessories. The dress served as a canvas for her. The fur vest and metallic shoe have elevated the look. We both chose the chain strap purse for a little glam.

P.S. It just happened that we were matching...you know what they say great friends dress alike!

XOXO,
 Nikki

Two ways to wear stripes

I love a good stripe print it's simple yet classy.  You can always dress it up or dress it down. By now it should be a well-known fact that every girl needs to own at least one stripe printed blouse. Here is one way I like to wear this print. A mid-length dress, with a cardigan. You will almost never go wrong by adding black pumps and tights! This dress is effortless and I could have easily dressed it down by trading the pumps and tights for flats or sandals. And letting my hair down instead of up in a bun. I find that a dress like this can be a basic. And it's such a flattering fit which is a must!                                                                                                         ...

My Favorite Sparks of Inspiration

Most people love a good spark of inspiration in their life. I'm not excluded from that group, in fact I often find myself drawn to people, places, things and books that brings me into that spark of inspiration! And so today, I thought I'd share some of the quotes that I have found most inspiring. These quotes have in some ways changed my perspective.( P.S the first one is my own personal creation.)                                                             " Give all you have,                                                                  make efforts.              ...

My First Ballet Experience

"Ballet is like dreaming on your feet." -unknown    "A Midsummer Night's Dream"  I feel dreamy just talking about it. I can still see them so clearly in my mind's eye. Graceful dancing. Like swines they glided across the shiny wooden floor. Twirling and swaying to the rhythm of the soft music. I was instantly entranced. As I gleefully watched the Ballerinas in their sparkly attire leaping on their tiptoes, I thought I heard a faint sound beside me. It was a familiar ruffling. Like my dad snoring.       I thought to myself, surely I'm hearing things, how could my dad be sleeping while in the audience of such a splendid performance. I refocused my attention towards the show. The music had escalated during a scene that involved a sword fight! When suddenly there it was again, that ruffled sound of someone breathing while sleeping upright. I thought to myself that undoubtedly I know that sound. Finally daring to look away from the show if only for one mo...
